# Flashcards from what you missed

You do not have to make them. Ask Eddy for flashcards and they appear right beside the picture you are learning from, and the questions you miss in a quiz are saved as cards on their own. Each card comes back right before you would forget it, and your Cards page shows what is due today and what is coming. Review in the Mac pill, or ask Eddy to go over them with you.

Made for you

## Cards from your own lessons.

Say make flashcards in any lesson and Eddy docks a short deck beside the picture: flip a card, then mark Got it or Not yet. In the Mac pill, quizzes save the question you got wrong as a card by themselves, so the thing you missed today is the thing you see again.

Your Cards

## What's due, and what's coming.

Cards in the sidebar is your whole deck: how many are due now, the next 14 days at a glance, your decks by topic with how well you know each, and every card, which you can search, edit, pause or delete.

Review

## Rate it. It comes back on time.

On a Mac, Review opens in the pill: space flips a card, and you rate it Again, Hard, Good or Easy with keys 1 to 4, each showing when it will come back. In the Eddy tab, ask Eddy to go over your due cards with you.

With Eddy

In the Eddy tab, say review my due flashcards with me, and Eddy goes over them with you.

On a Mac

Review opens in the pill, over whatever you are doing, and closes when you are done.

## Learn it. Miss it. See it again.

How a card finds its way back to you.

1. 1. A lesson or a quiz Ask for flashcards, or miss a quiz question.
2. 2. It becomes a card Saved to your deck, by topic.
3. 3. It comes back Right before you would forget it, on your Cards page.
4. 4. You rate it Each rating sets when you see it next.

## Space it out.

We forget fast, and the same review spread out over days beats the same review all at once. That is the whole idea behind your deck: each card waits until right before you would forget it. The learning science behind it: [Space it out](https://duckyhelper.com/research/principles/spaced-practice/).

## How to use it

## Frequently asked questions

### Does DuckyHelper make flashcards for me?

Yes. Ask for flashcards in any lesson and Eddy makes a short deck from it, right beside the picture. On a Mac, quizzes also save each question you miss as a card. All of them go into your Cards, by topic.

### Is it spaced repetition?

Yes. Every card has a next time to come back, set by how you rated it: Again, Hard, Good or Easy. Cards you know well come back less often; cards you miss come back sooner, right before you would forget them.

### How do I review my cards with Eddy?

Open the Eddy tab and say review my due flashcards with me, and Eddy goes over them with you. Flashcards Eddy makes in a lesson flip and mark right beside the picture. On a Mac, Review opens in the pill, where space flips and keys 1 to 4 rate.

### Can I edit or delete a card?

Yes. The Cards page lists every card. Search it, edit a card's words, pause a card you do not need for now, or delete it.

### Can flashcards help me study for finals?

Yes. Spread your reviews over the days before the test instead of cramming them into one night, and let your Cards page tell you what is due. [Study for finals](https://duckyhelper.com/for/finals/) has a plan for the whole week.

## More features

### Worked steps, one move each, that you can keep, and graphs you can hover, zoom and slide

Ask DuckyHelper to work it out and get worked steps, one move each, plus graphs you can hover, zoom and change with sliders. Keep the steps as a note.

### Small sandboxes you run yourself: drag the ball, move a slider, read the numbers

Ask DuckyHelper to show you how a pendulum, a projectile or a circuit works and get a small sandbox to run yourself: drag, change a slider, read the numbers.

### It asks back and gives the next hint before an answer, so you do the thinking

DuckyHelper asks back and gives the next hint before it gives an answer, so you do the thinking. Why that matters, and how it works on a Mac and in Eddy.

### Hear a word slowly, say it, and see how each word scored; follow along as Eddy reads aloud

Practice a language out loud with DuckyHelper: hear a word slowly, say it, and see how each word scored. Have Eddy read a story aloud while the words light up.

### Run your code against tests, then watch it step by step with every variable as it changes

DuckyHelper runs your code against tests and plays it back step by step, every variable as it changes, so you see why it gives the wrong answer.

### A timeline you scroll and a world map you pan, zoom and tap, with real pictures and sources

Ask when or where something happened and DuckyHelper shows a timeline you can scroll or a world map you can pan, zoom and tap, with real pictures and sources.

### Say quiz me: tap, type math or answer true or false, and every miss comes with why

Say quiz me and DuckyHelper writes a quick quiz on what you are learning: tap, type math or answer true or false, and every miss comes with why.

### It remembers how you learn and what you kept, so each lesson starts where you are; you hold the switches

DuckyHelper remembers how you learn, what you studied and what you keep, so the next lesson starts where you are. You decide what it keeps and uses.

### Finals: plan the week, quiz each class, and review what you missed

Plan finals week in Tasks, quiz yourself on each class, and get every miss back as a flashcard before the exam. In the DuckyHelper Mac app.

### Every DuckyHelper feature: what it does, where it runs, and a short film of each

What DuckyHelper for Mac does: Eddy teaches out loud on a blackboard, and Ducky sees your screen, draws on it and walks you through your own apps.

## Start a deck from tonight's lesson

Open the Eddy tab in the Mac app, learn something, and say make flashcards.
