# Ducky remembers what you learned

A tutor who forgets you every time is not much of a tutor. DuckyHelper keeps notes about how you learn, the pictures worth keeping and the files you give it, and finds them while you talk, so the next lesson starts where you are. Progress shows your time, streak and topics. You decide what it keeps: every note can be edited or deleted, and three switches turn memory off.

What it keeps

## Notes, pictures and your files.

Ducky saves short notes as you learn, like likes to see how a thing works before the math, and pictures worth keeping. You can add your own too: type a note, or drop, paste or upload pictures and files, like your class notes or an essay draft. Say remember this on a Mac and the picture on your screen is kept for good.

Search and pin

Settings, Memory lists everything: search it, filter by notes, pictures or files, and pin what matters.

Edit or delete anything

Change a note's words, or delete it, with Undo if you change your mind.

Ask about it

## It finds it while you talk.

You do not have to say where something is. Ask let's go through my AI class notes and Eddy finds the file you kept and starts from it. Or press Ask Ducky about this on any note in Memory.

Your switches

## You decide what it keeps and uses.

Settings, Memory has three switches. Use memory: Eddy reads your memories in sessions, so it can pick up where you left off. Let Eddy save memories: it keeps notes and pictures by itself; you can always add your own. Keep my Eddy lessons: lessons are kept so you can replay them, never your own voice.

Progress

## See how far you've come.

Memory is what Ducky knows about you. Progress is what you can see about yourself.

[Progress Time per day, your streak, your topics and how well you know each, recent tests and their trend.](https://docs.duckyhelper.com/study/progress/)

### Mistakes

Slips Ducky noticed, not scores. A little practice makes them go away.

[History Every session with its summary, the pictures made for you, and Eddy lessons to replay.](https://duckyhelper.com/features/replays/)

[Cards What you missed, as flashcards that come back on time.](https://duckyhelper.com/features/flashcards/)

## Bring it back before you forget.

Memory is what lets DuckyHelper space things out: it knows what you studied and what you missed, so it can bring it back in a quiz or a flashcard right before you would forget it. The learning science behind it: [Space it out](https://duckyhelper.com/research/principles/spaced-practice/).

## Frequently asked questions

### Is there an AI tutor that remembers me?

Yes. DuckyHelper keeps short notes about how you learn, pictures worth keeping and files you give it, and finds them while you talk, so the next lesson starts where you left off. Everything is listed in Settings, Memory, where you can edit or delete it.

### What does it remember about me?

Notes about how you learn, like likes to see how a thing works before the math; topics you studied; pictures and files you or Ducky kept; and, if you keep them, your Eddy lessons to replay. It never keeps your own voice from a lesson.

### Can I turn memory off?

Yes. Settings, Memory has three switches: Use memory, Let Eddy save memories, and Keep my Eddy lessons. Turn any of them off. You can also delete single notes, with Undo, or use Forget everything in Settings, Account.

### Is it personalized?

That is what memory is for. Ducky uses what it knows about how you learn and what you studied to pick examples, pace a lesson and bring back what you missed. [Your data controls](https://duckyhelper.com/data-controls/) explains what is kept and the switches for it.

### Can a parent see my lessons?

Only if you turn Family on, which is off until you do. A linked parent sees your week, your lessons with their summaries and replays, your progress and tasks, and you always see who is linked. [Safety](https://duckyhelper.com/safety/) and [data controls](https://duckyhelper.com/data-controls/) explain it in full.

## More features

### Ask out loud and hear the answer: press fn on a Mac, or talk to Eddy in the app's Eddy tab

Ask DuckyHelper out loud and it answers out loud while it shows you the steps. On your Mac, press fn in any app, or talk to Eddy in its tab.

### Write your working and get it checked line by line, or answer a quick check on Eddy's whiteboard

Write your working and DuckyHelper checks it: the first wrong line marked with why on a Mac, and Eddy's whiteboard for a quick drawing or check.

### Say quiz me: tap, type math or answer true or false, and every miss comes with why

Say quiz me and DuckyHelper writes a quick quiz on what you are learning: tap, type math or answer true or false, and every miss comes with why.

### Worked steps, one move each, that you can keep, and graphs you can hover, zoom and slide

Ask DuckyHelper to work it out and get worked steps, one move each, plus graphs you can hover, zoom and change with sliders. Keep the steps as a note.

### Small sandboxes you run yourself: drag the ball, move a slider, read the numbers

Ask DuckyHelper to show you how a pendulum, a projectile or a circuit works and get a small sandbox to run yourself: drag, change a slider, read the numbers.

### It asks back and gives the next hint before an answer, so you do the thinking

DuckyHelper asks back and gives the next hint before it gives an answer, so you do the thinking. Why that matters, and how it works on a Mac and in Eddy.

### Data controls: every switch for your data, and where to find it in Settings

Every DuckyHelper data switch and where it is: memory, keeping Eddy lessons, hands-free, Family, emails, export your data and delete your account.

### Cards made from your lessons and mistakes, back right before you would forget them

DuckyHelper turns your lessons and your mistakes into flashcards that come back right before you would forget them. Review with Eddy or in the Mac pill.

### Replay any Eddy lesson exactly as it happened, at any speed, then pick it up again

### Every DuckyHelper feature: what it does, where it runs, and a short film of each

What DuckyHelper for Mac does: Eddy teaches out loud on a blackboard, and Ducky sees your screen, draws on it and walks you through your own apps.

## Pick up where you left off

Open the Mac app, talk to Eddy or Ducky, and start a lesson. Ducky remembers the next one.
