Eddy, in the Mac app

# Pictures you can ask about

Ask Eddy how plants drink water and you do not get a wall of text. A picture made for your question comes into focus on Eddy's desk, and Eddy draws the labels on it one by one as it names each part: root hairs, water tubes, leaf pores. Tap any part to ask about it, change the picture with its buttons, or ask for a real photo.

Labels

## Labelled as it's explained.

Say show me inside a leaf, press Picture, or pick A picture in How Eddy answers. A soft window grows on Eddy's desk, a blur comes into focus, and each label is drawn on as Eddy says it. Move the picture, resize it, minimize it, or fill the whole desktop with it.

A quick question fills the wait

A picture made for you takes a few seconds. While it comes into focus, Eddy asks one quick question, like how much you already know, and starts from there. This comes to the Mac app with its next update.

Where it came from

The (i) on every picture says what it is and credits its source.

Pictures and your plan

What each plan includes, pictures too, is on one page: [Pricing](https://duckyhelper.com/pricing/).

Tap to ask

## Curious about one part? Tap it.

Click any part of a picture and Eddy tells you about exactly that part: tap the anemone, then the clownfish, then ask how they help each other. You can follow your own curiosity through a picture instead of waiting for the next slide.

[Guide: Tap a part to ask about it](https://docs.duckyhelper.com/eddy/tap-to-ask/)

Change it

## Press a button. Watch what changes.

Up to three round buttons sit beside the bar for the picture in front of you, each one a change that teaches something: boost the solar wind, zoom into the aurora, hide the magnetic field. The picture morphs, and Eddy tells you what changed and why.

Real photos

## For real things, a real photo.

Ask is there a real photo of the pores? and Eddy shows one, with its source: a real stoma under a microscope, credited to Wikipedia. Drawn diagrams, simple 3D models you turn, and looping scenes show up too, whichever explains it best.

### Made for your question

A picture of exactly what you asked, labelled as Eddy explains.

From Wikipedia, with the source credit on the picture.

### Diagrams and drawings

Labelled diagrams and simple drawings, built up as Eddy talks.

### Step inside

Fill the desktop, or World on the start page, turns a picture into a full scene.

## Ask to see it. Then ask about it.

How a picture lesson goes.

1. 1. Ask Eddy to show you How do plants drink water? Or press Picture, Cmd + I.
2. 2. It comes into focus Answer one quick question while it does.
3. 3. Eddy labels each part In time with its voice.
4. 4. Tap, change, ask Tap a part, press a round button, or ask for a real photo.

## Words and a picture, together.

Hearing an explanation while you look at the labelled part it is about is easier to follow than reading the same words alone. That is why Eddy labels as it talks instead of after. ## Frequently asked questions

### Can an AI tutor explain with labelled diagrams?

Yes. Ask Eddy to show you something and a picture comes into focus on its desk, with labels drawn on one by one as Eddy names each part. You can tap any part to ask about it, and change the picture with its round buttons. It works in the Mac app's Eddy tab.

### Are the pictures real or made up?

Both kinds, and Eddy says which. Some are made for your question, like the inside of a leaf drawn to show how water moves. For real things, ask for a real photo and Eddy shows one with its source, often Wikipedia. The (i) on every picture tells you what it is.

### Can I ask about one part of a picture?

Yes. Click any part of the picture, without dragging, and Eddy tells you about exactly that part. Tap two parts and ask how they fit together.

### Does it work on a school Chromebook?

Not right now: DuckyHelper is a Mac app (macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon). There is no Chromebook or web version. On a Mac, pictures appear in the Eddy tab of the DuckyHelper dashboard, and Ducky can show pictures in the pill too.
