Which one should you pick?

Pick DuckyHelper if

  • You are in high school (13 to 17 with a parent's OK) and want an AI tutor you are allowed to use.
  • You want to talk while it looks at your screen, and see it mark up the problem.
  • You want quizzes, graphs and a dashboard that tracks your topics (flashcards in the Mac app).

Pick Claude if

  • You are 18 or older and want help with long readings, essays, code or research.
  • Your university gives you Claude for Education with learning mode.
  • You want a free plan with more text chat than DuckyHelper's free talking time.
  • You want a phone app.

Learning mode

Anthropic launched learning mode with Claude for Education in April 2025. It guides "rather than answering" with Socratic questions. Anthropic's education page says it "asks questions that help you find the answers yourself." We could not confirm that the same mode is offered on the consumer Free and Pro plans as of October 2026, so check your account.

Voice and your screen

Claude's voice mode is in beta on every plan, on mobile, desktop and web, and it counts toward your usage limits. Anthropic does not document camera or screen sharing in voice. Its computer use feature takes screenshots to operate apps for you; that is an agent that does the task, not a tutor that teaches it.

DuckyHelper is built the other way around: it shows you, then lets you do the step, and checks it.
