Eddy's blackboard draws while it talks
Open Blackboard in Eddy, ask what you want worked out, and Eddy explains on a dark board the way a tutor would: it writes and draws step by step, each line appearing as its voice reaches it. Then it hands you a your-turn question and checks your answer. It is in the Eddy tab of the DuckyHelper Mac app.

Written as it's said.
Eddy does not paste a finished answer onto the board. Each step, label and arrow appears as Eddy says it, so you follow the thinking, not just the result: count each kind of atom, make both sides match, never change the subscripts.
Blackboard on Eddy's start page, or Cmd + K. Eddy asks: what should Eddy explain on the blackboard?
With Eddy picks on, Eddy reaches for the board by itself when something needs working out.
The board is kept in the lesson's rail, so you can look back at it, and in History, so you can replay the whole lesson.
Then it's your turn.
When the board is done, Eddy asks you something that uses it, like how many hydrogen atoms are in two water molecules. Answer out loud or type it, and Eddy checks it and tells you why. Get it wrong and you get a hint, not the answer.

Eddy picks the right way to show it.
Some things are worked out, some are seen. With Eddy picks on, Eddy reaches for the board for a method and for a picture with labels for a thing, like why the sky is blue. The chip at the left of the bar lets you choose yourself: Just words, Look it up, A picture or A scene.
Want the board bigger? Fill the desktop turns it into a full scene and it keeps drawing. Back to the desktop, or Escape, brings it back.
World on the start page opens a lesson as a full scene from the start.
Ask. Watch it worked out. Try it.
How a blackboard lesson goes.
- 1. Open Blackboard
On Eddy's start page, or Cmd + K.
- 2. Say what to work out
How do I balance H2 + O2 to H2O? Ask out loud.
- 3. Eddy writes it as it talks
Step by step, in time with its voice.
- 4. Your turn
Answer Eddy's question and it checks you.
Eddy runs in the Eddy tab of the Mac app's dashboard.
Draw it as you explain.
A diagram that builds while you hear the words is easier to follow than either one alone, which is why a good tutor reaches for the board. On a Mac, Ducky does the same on your own screen. The learning science behind it: Draw it as you explain.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an AI tutor that draws diagrams while it explains?
Yes. Eddy, the tutor in the DuckyHelper Mac app's Eddy tab, explains on a blackboard and writes and draws each step in time with its voice. It also shows pictures with labels drawn on as it names each part. On a Mac, Ducky draws right on your own screen.
How do I open the blackboard?
Click Blackboard on Eddy's start page, or press Cmd + K. Eddy asks what to explain. With Eddy picks on, Eddy also opens the board by itself when a question needs working out.
What subjects does the blackboard work for?
Anything that is easier worked out step by step: balancing equations, fractions, algebra, physics problems, a timeline of causes, the structure of an essay. For things you need to see, like the inside of a leaf, Eddy shows a picture with labels instead.
Does it work on a school Chromebook?
Not right now: DuckyHelper is a Mac app (macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon), and the blackboard is in its Eddy tab. There is no Chromebook or web version. On a Mac, if the microphone is blocked, the app says what to turn on.
Can I watch a blackboard lesson again?
Yes. Every board stays in its lesson, and History keeps your Eddy lessons to replay exactly as they happened, at 1x, 1.5x or 2x. Watch any lesson again explains how long they are kept.
