Built to keep learners safe
DuckyHelper is for learners 13 and up; a child under 13 can use it only after a parent gives verifiable consent. We don't sell information or use it for ads, and neither we nor OpenAI use it to train AI models. Eddy never sees your screen, and the Mac app looks only while its pill is open. Below: what we collect, why, for how long, and your switches.
Safe by design
Each point links the page it comes from. Those pages are the source; if anything here differs, they win.
Ages
13 and up with your own account; 13 to 17 with a parent's or guardian's OK. Under 13 only after a parent's verifiable consent, and the parent manages the account.
No ads, no selling, no training
Information is never sold or used for ads, and neither we nor OpenAI use it to train AI models.
Teaches, doesn't do your work
It asks questions, gives hints and checks your steps. Your school's rules about AI come first.
Kind and age-appropriate
The tutor is instructed to stay kind and age-appropriate, not to ask for personal information, and to suggest a trusted adult if a learner seems upset.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why | Kept? |
|---|---|---|
| Your voice | Goes straight to OpenAI, which runs the conversation | Not recorded or kept by us |
| Pictures of your screen (Mac app only) | So Ducky can see what you are asking about, only while the pill is open, never while a password field has focus | Not kept, unless you or Ducky save one to memory |
| What you type, and a transcript and summary of each session | So the tutor can pick up where you left off | Yes, until you delete it |
| Progress, tests, flashcards and memory notes | Your dashboard, and lessons that fit you | Yes, until you delete it; memory can be turned off |
| Your account: email, name, age group | Signing in. We keep an age group, never your birthday | Until you delete your account |
| Payments | Handled by Stripe; we never see your card number | As payment records the law requires |
In plain words. The Privacy Policy lists everything, section by section. Eddy, in the Eddy tab, never captures your screen and never uses your camera. Eddy lesson replays keep Eddy's voice and your words as captions, never your own voice.
How long it is kept
| Information | How long |
|---|---|

Who processes it
| Company | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|

Each company works for us under its own contract and may use the information only to provide its service. The full list, with exactly what each one receives, is on Subprocessors. We update it before we add or replace one.

How to use it
Frequently asked questions
Is DuckyHelper safe for kids?
DuckyHelper is made for learners 13 and up, with a parent's OK for teens. A child under 13 can use it only after a parent gives verifiable consent and manages the account. The tutor is instructed to stay kind and age-appropriate. AI safety measures aren't perfect, so tell support@duckyhelper.com if something seems wrong.
Does DuckyHelper sell data or show ads?
No. We don't sell your information or share it for ads, and there are no ads in DuckyHelper. Neither we nor OpenAI use what you say, type or show to train AI models. The Privacy Policy explains every use.
Can a parent see what their child does?
Only if the learner turns on Family in Settings and links a parent; it is off until then. A linked parent sees each child's week, lessons with their summaries and replays, progress and tasks, and gets a weekly email. The learner always sees who is linked.
Does DuckyHelper see my screen or use my camera?
Eddy, in the Eddy tab, never captures your screen and never uses your camera. Ducky looks at your screen only while its pill is open, never while a password field has focus, and DuckyHelper's own windows are never in the picture.
Can students use it to cheat?
It is built to teach, not to do the work: it gives hints before answers and checks your own steps. Your school's rules about AI come first; don't use it on a test unless you're allowed to. AI Use and Academic Integrity explains how to use it honestly.
How do I report something harmful or unsafe?
If the tutor says something harmful or inappropriate, email support@duckyhelper.com with what happened. For a security problem, email security@duckyhelper.com, and we reply within 5 business days. For privacy requests, write to privacy@duckyhelper.com.
