Eddy, in the Mac app

Eddy opens web pages with you

Ask Eddy to open Khan Academy, find a page on solar panels, or type an address into a tab yourself. The page opens in Eddy's browser, a real browser built into the Mac app's Eddy tab, and Eddy works in it where you can see: its own round blue cursor points, highlights the paragraph that answers you, scrolls and clicks. You can sign in to school sites like Google Classroom or Canvas there too.

In a tab

It points. You watch.

Every lesson in Eddy is a tab, and a tab can hold a web page. Ask open Khan Academy, or find a video on cell division, or press Cmd + L and type an address. Eddy reads the page with you and shows you where things are with its own cursor, so you learn the site as well as the answer. Watching it done once, then doing it yourself, is the idea behind Show a worked example first.

Every point, highlight, scroll, click and bit of typing happens with Eddy's blue cursor, in front of you.

Eddy may not open some addresses, and says so.

Safe by default

SafeSearch stays on.

Eddy's browser is for school work, and it is set up that way.

SafeSearch, always

Searches from the address bar go to Google with SafeSearch on.

Ads and trackers blocked

Third-party ad and tracker sites are blocked before a page loads.

Clear in one place

Settings, General, Eddy's browser, Clear signs you out of every site you used there.

No pictures kept

Lesson replays never keep pictures of web pages.

School sites

A real browser inside the app.

Eddy's browser is built into the Mac app: a real browser inside the Eddy tab, with ads and trackers blocked and SafeSearch on. Sign in to your school sites there, like Google Classroom or Canvas, and work with Eddy in the page. Your sign-ins stay in Eddy's browser, apart from your DuckyHelper account. Ducky can also point and click on your own screen, in any app.

Ask for a page. Work in it together.

How a web page lesson goes.

  1. 1. Ask Eddy to open it

Open Khan Academy. Or Cmd + L and an address.

  2. 2. It opens in a tab

Right in Eddy's browser, in the Eddy tab.

  3. 3. Eddy shows you

Its cursor points, highlights and scrolls.

  4. 4. You do the work

Ask about anything on the page as you go.
